Lenni's Luxury Ireland Adventure: Castles, Coastlines & Comfort

Ireland's misty coastlines, ancient castles, and rich culture made a lasting impression on Lenni. For travelers who value natural beauty and refined comfort, the Emerald Isle delivers a personal and memorable experience. From historic estates to dramatic landscapes, here’s how she explored Ireland in style.

Castlemartyr

Lenni's luxury Ireland adventure began at Castlemartyr, a quiet village in County Cork, about 30 kilometers from the city. Its roots run deep—centuries back to when the Knights Templar built a castle here in the 13th century. Later, an 18th-century manor rose nearby, now part of a luxury resort. Surrounded by farmland and the Kiltha River, Castlemartyr blends history, landscape, and quiet charm without trying too hard.

The resort itself is polished and well-executed. Rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, with a rare-for-Ireland feature: a fully enclosed private toilet area in the bathrooms. The welcome amenity stands out—local snacks, a personalized mug, and a piece of Irish art that feels intentional. Afternoon tea is well done and worth booking in advance.

On-property highlights include a two Michelin-starred restaurant (Terre), a golf course, a spa, and access to scenic walking paths. Service was consistently excellent across touchpoints. The only challenge is its location—Castlemartyr feels a bit out of the way for typical Dublin/Shannon itineraries, so it may require a more tailored route.

If you're interested in food, golf, or whiskey. This place is a great fit for your next Ireland adventure. The Midleton Distillery is nearby, and Kinsale, a charming seaside town with restaurants and shops, is just 30 minutes away.

Sheen falls

Lenni's next stop is Sheen falls. Set along a tranquil stretch of river just outside the town of Kenmare, Sheen Falls Lodge blends relaxed luxury with natural beauty. As a Relais & Châteaux property, it offers refined service in a peaceful, scenic setting—ideal for travelers wanting to explore the Ring of Kerry or Dingle Peninsula while staying somewhere quieter than Killarney.

The location is a major highlight—guests can walk into Kenmare to explore shops and restaurants or simply enjoy the serene views from the property itself. Activities like falconry, horseback riding, tennis, and boathouse yoga offer plenty to do without leaving the grounds.

Lenni chartered a private helicopter ride along the coast, getting a bird’s-eye view of the ring of Kerry, Skellig islands, crashing surf, and lush green cliffs. An unforgettable experience and definitely one of Lenni's favorites.

For those looking for more space, the private villas are a great choice for families or small groups—offering shared common areas and extra privacy while staying connected to the main lodge amenities.

Lenni thinks couples, families, or small groups looking for a relaxed yet luxurious base to explore the Ring of Kerry, Beara, or Dingle Peninsula, would love it here! Kenmare offers great access to the region without the crowds of more touristed areas.

Ballyfin

Just an hour from Dublin, Ballyfin offered Lenni a pause in time. This retreat nestled beside a man-made lake, is known for its polished serenity and immersive experience. With only 23 rooms, it feels more like a private estate than a hotel.

Lenni's mornings included clay pigeon shooting and long walks through the estate’s gardens, while evenings were reserved for tasting menus in a candlelit dining room. One standout moment? A lakeside aperitif at golden hour.

Lenni’s Tip: Two nights felt just right—long enough to unwind without overindulging in six-course dinners every night.

Dromoland Castle

Lenni’s stay at Dromoland Castle offered a practical and well-positioned stop near the Cliffs of Moher and links courses like Trump Doonbeg. Her executive corner room in the mansion had been recently renovated—spacious and comfortable, with views of both the castle grounds and golf course.

Thoughtful in-room amenities added a nice touch, including a spa kit with natural Irish products, teas, and seaweed for a traditional soak, plus wine, chocolates, and cake as a welcome. On property, guests can choose between fine dining (also the breakfast venue) or a more casual bar/lounge, where live Irish music—harp, cello, and vocalists—adds atmosphere in the evenings.

Dromoland works well for travelers seeking a castle stay close to key western Ireland sights, especially those flying in or out of Shannon or looking to combine cultural charm with convenience.

Adare Manor

Next, Lenni headed to Adare Manor, a neo-Gothic estate set on 840 acres of parkland in County Limerick that feels straight out of a fantasy. Adare Manor is a true five-star retreat. Just a short drive from Shannon Airport, it offers a seamless departure experience, including U.S. customs preclearance.

Plan to stay a minimum of three nights, with two full days dedicated entirely to the property. On arrival, unwind with a walk through the grounds and dinner at one of the manor’s restaurants. The following day can be as active or relaxed as you'd like: play a round of golf (set to host the Ryder Cup in 2027), try padel or a swim, then dive into on-site experiences like falconry, gun dog demonstrations, or a horse and carriage ride. On the final day, explore the nearby village, visit the spa, stroll the estate trails, or sample the chocolate shop before a final dinner in town or on property.

Lenni recommends: If visiting the Cliffs of Moher is in your itinerary, consider visiting on your way in or out—leaving your time at Adare fully open to enjoy.

The Westbury - Dublin

Lenni wraps her trip in Westbury located near Dublin’s top shopping streets and just steps from the designer mall, The Westbury offers convenience and charm in the heart of the city. The lobby lounge serves food throughout the day and hosts a classic afternoon tea, while The Sidecar bar has a lively but intimate vibe—ideal for couples or small groups.

Rooms are on the smaller side, and the gym is minimal, with no spa on site. For travelers who prioritize wellness amenities, The Shelbourne or The Merrion are stronger options. Both have full-service spas and gyms—The Shelbourne, in particular, offers a private membership model similar to Maybourne’s. Its location along St. Stephen’s Green also adds a bonus: easy park strolls on clear days and a cozy spa escape when Dublin’s weather turns.

Lenni’s Irish adventure proves that Ireland luxury travel isn’t just about where you go—but how you experience it. Whether sipping tea in a manor house or flying over Skellig Michael, every moment is one to remember.

Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, Tuscany

Rolling hills, vineyard views, and a private pool last summer, our clients spent their days in a four-bedroom villa nestled deep in the Tuscan countryside. But they weren’t exactly roughing it. The estate’s winery, championship golf course, and full-service spa were just a short stroll away. Several of the larger villas also come with your own 7-seat Land Rover Defender or a similar type of 4x4 vehicle to explore the area. Our top recommendation? The nearby village of Montalcino a wine lover’s heaven!

For travelers settling into the Eternal City for a while, Rocco Forte House is a standout. Spring Break hits different when it’s done right. Whether you’re chasing barefoot luxury, postcard-perfect beaches, a total digital detox, or some fresh powder, we can help bring your Spring Break vacation plans to life. We travel around the world with our families too, so we can discover new destinations and experiences to better inform our clients. Here’s a recap of where some of our luxury travel advisors spent their Spring Breaks.

Turtle Inn, Belize

For the family who craves adventure with a side of barefoot luxury

Nestled in the tranquil town of Placencia, Turtle Inn is a lush, low-key hideaway where every detail feels considered and every day unfolds at your own pace. The resort’s relaxed yet refined design makes it easy to slow down and truly savor island time.

Mornings begin with the soft rustle of palm trees and end with candlelit dinners at one of the resort’s four standout restaurants. And in between? Pure magic. Picture your family fly fishing for bonefish from remote islets, the Caribbean stretching out in every direction. Later, you’ll head to the reef, reeling in fresh fish then watch as the resort’s chef transforms your catch into vibrant ceviche and crudo dishes.

The aquatic thrills don’t stop there. Snorkeling trips bring you face to face with nurse sharks, sea turtles, and the mesmerizing eagle ray. The small size of the resort means attentive service at every turn, making this an ideal escape for families looking to unplug without sacrificing comfort.

A pool at the beach with lounge chairs, palm trees and warm light

The Bahamas

For the ones that want sunshine, snorkeling and a close encounter with wildlife

The Bahamas is all about vibrant colors, laid-back vibes, and fun for the whole family. Spring Break here doesn’t just feel like a vacation it feels like you’ve stepped into a postcard. On a private boat trip through the Exumas, every stop had its own “wow” moment from swimming with the famous beach-loving pigs to strolling along a sparkling sandbar full of stingrays and starfish.

Snorkeling in a deep blue hole felt like diving into a real-life kaleidoscope, with parrotfish and angelfish swimming all around. Over at Blow Hole Beach, waves burst through a natural rock formation like a geyser, had everyone, kids and grown-ups alike, mesmerized. And at Iguana Beach? You’ll be hand-feeding the locals (iguanas).

When it’s time to slow down, Coconut Club is the perfect chill spot beachside drinks, comfy lounge chairs, and floaties for the whole crew. For a quieter vibe, families will love the charm of Harbour Island with its soft sands and peaceful pace. And if you're sneaking in a little romance, The Cove at Eleuthera nails it with just the right mix of seclusion and luxury.

Inspired? It’s not too early to get in touch to start planning for next year! Here’s more Spring Break travel inspiration

St. Regis Deer Valley, Utah

For the family who wants snow-dusted luxury without the ski-day stress

At the St. Regis Deer Valley, everything about a ski vacation with kids becomes easier and infinitely more elegant. Nestled on the slopes of one of Utah’s most beloved ski destinations, this resort blends cozy mountain charm with elevated service and thoughtful family touches throughout.

The true ski-in/ski-out access means no carrying gear across icy parking lots. Rentals, lift passes, and the ski valet are all in one place, streamlining the entire process so you can spend less time coordinating and more time on the slopes. An app makes booking shuttles into town or to the base a breeze.

On property, every restaurant welcomes children with kid-friendly menus and built-in activities, while still offering a refined dining experience for grown-ups. If you're lucky, you'll have a special culinary experience, this time it was "Culinary Takeover" featuring Food Network stars Jeff Mauro and Geoffrey Zakarian.

Nights end with s’mores by the fire and mugs of hot cocoa, while mornings begin with coffee delivered by the resort’s signature butler team.

If you're looking for a ski getaway that caters to both kids and grown-ups without sacrificing style or service, St. Regis Deer Valley delivers at every turn.

Disney Cruise to the Bahamas

For the family chasing magic, sunshine, and stress-free fun for all ages

When your kids utter the words “We want to go on a Disney cruise!” it might not sound like your version of luxury but hear us out. For Spring Break, Kate set sail with family and friends aboard the Disney Magic. And it turns out, this type of trip checks a lot of boxes when it comes to effortless fun for all ages.

With concierge-level service (highly recommended), parents actually get to relax. Think priority boarding, exclusive lounges, and stress-free dining worth it, especially during high season when ships are nearly full. Kids bounce between clubs tailored to every age group from toddlers to teens while grown-ups enjoy poolside cocktails and easy company during meals.

Ship type (aka age) and cabin location matter. Disney Wish launched in 2022, the common spaces, restaurants and cabins all felt very fresh; Cabin location is another big one: we always help our clients choose the best layout and quietest spot for their crew.

Dining? Surprisingly accommodating. Even with allergies in the group, menus were flexible, flavorful, and thoughtfully managed.

And of course, part of the magic is leaning all the way in pirate night costumes, door decorations, Magic Bands, and a few Disney extras make it even more fun!

We love helping clients figure out which Disney experience makes the most sense at each stage Disneyland, Disney World, a Disney Cruise, or a little mix of everything. From VIP guides to hotel upgrades (spoiler alert: we adore Four Seasons Orlando), we’re here to make the magic feel personal and unforgettable we’re here to help you plan it all, down to the Amazon packing list.

Spring Break may be behind us, but your next unforgettable trip is just around the corner. Whether you're thinking about a summer family getaway, a romantic fall escape, or a festive holiday trip, now’s the time to start planning.

48 Hours in Monaco: Luxury Hotels, Michelin Dining & Iconic Experiences

Monaco is all about luxury, incredible food, stunning views, and world-famous events. Kate, the founder of KJ Travel, recently traveled to Monaco for the Forbes Travel Guide Summit, where top names in luxury hospitality gathered to discuss the future of high-end travel.

But, of course, no trip to Monaco is complete without experiencing the very best this glamorous destination has to offer—iconic hotels, Michelin-starred dining, yacht tours, Formula 1 excitement, and world-class nightlife.

We love incorporating a stay in this sovereign city state when planning French Riviera vacations. If you have 48 hours in this area, here’s how to make the most of your time in Monaco.

Checking In: Where to Stay

To fully experience Monaco, staying at one of the top hotels is a must. If you want to be right in the heart of it all, Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo is the ultimate choice. It’s located next to the famous casino and is home to Le Louis XV - Alain Ducasse, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant known for its next-level French cuisine.

For something elegant and peaceful, Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo offers classic Belle Époque charm, sea views, and an incredible spa. Kate especially loved her meal at Le Pavyllon Monte-Carlo by Chef Yannick Alléno—order the Millefeuille de bœuf and thank us later.

If waking up to ocean views sounds like a dream, Monte-Carlo Beach is a stylish hideaway with a private beach club and waterfront dining.

For those seeking luxury with breathtaking scenery, Maybourne Riviera is a stunning choice. Perched on a cliffside overlooking the Mediterranean, this architectural masterpiece offers panoramic sea views from every room, an infinity pool that stretches toward the horizon, and access to an exclusive beach club for the ultimate Riviera experience.

Exploring Monte Carlo & Enjoying the Views

After checking in, take a walk around Monte Carlo. The Casino de Monte-Carlo is a must-see, even if you don’t plan to gamble. The architecture is stunning, and stepping inside feels like you’re in a James Bond movie.

For a more laid-back experience, visit the Exotic Garden of Monaco, where you’ll find incredible views of the city and the Mediterranean. If shopping is on your list, Avenue de Monte-Carlo has some of the best luxury brands, including Chanel, Cartier, and Louis Vuitton.

For lunch, Abysse Monte-Carlo is the spot to try if you’re in the mood for something unique. This new restaurant serves modern French cuisine with Japanese influences. If you prefer something more relaxed, Coya Monte-Carlo offers Latin American-inspired dishes in a vibrant, stylish setting.

The Ultimate Monaco Experience: Yachting, Racing & Nightlife

One of the best ways to experience Monaco’s glamour is by getting out on the water. Renting a private yacht for a few hours lets you soak in the stunning coastline and maybe even spot some dolphins. If you’re a car enthusiast, walking or driving along the Formula 1 Grand Prix track is a fun experience—it’s one of the most famous circuits in the world, and the streets are open for regular traffic when the race isn’t happening.

For dinner, Le Grill at Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo is a top pick. It’s on the rooftop, so you get breathtaking views of the city while enjoying incredible seafood and perfectly cooked steaks.

After dinner, the night is just getting started. Jimmy’z Monte-Carlo is one of the most legendary nightclubs in Europe, drawing A-list DJs and celebrities for high-energy parties. If you’re visiting in the fall, the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival is a great way to enjoy live music in a more relaxed, elegant setting.

Monaco’s Must-See Events & Experiences Beyond the Casino

After a late night out, start the next day with a relaxing morning at Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, one of the most luxurious spas in the world. Whether you go for a massage, a facial, or just a dip in the heated pool overlooking the sea, it’s the perfect way to recharge before another day of exploring.

Monaco is home to some of the most exciting events in the world. If you visit during the right season, you might catch the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, an international tennis tournament that brings top players to the Riviera. The Monaco Yacht Show is where the world’s most luxurious superyachts are on display.

If you're a foodie, visiting during the Festival des Étoilés is a must. This event brings together some of the best chefs, including Alain Ducasse, Yannick Alléno, and Marcel Ravin, for an unforgettable culinary experience. It’s the perfect way to wrap up your time in Monaco.

Before heading out, grab a bite at Monte-Carlo Beach Club, where you can sit right by the water, enjoy fresh seafood, and soak in the last bit of the Riviera sunshine. If you have extra time, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo is a stunning place to explore, whether you catch a performance or just admire the architecture.

Why Monaco is Worth the Trip

Monaco is all about luxury, world-class hospitality, and unforgettable experiences. Whether it’s the incredible hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, or buzzing nightlife, this is a destination that leaves a lasting impression.

And if you want to take your trip to the next level, working with KJ Travel can unlock exclusive VIP perks, special reservations, and one-of-a-kind experiences.

So if you’ve got 48 hours in Monaco, make the most of it—you’ll be planning your next trip back before you even leave.

Kate's Trip to Monaco for the Forbes Travel Guide Conference 2025

Kate, the founder of KJ Travel, packed her bags for an exciting weekend in Monaco for the Forbes Travel Guide Conference. But first—Paris!

First Stop: Paris

Kate’s adventure began at Le Meurice, a legendary luxury hotel in Paris that has been a symbol of five-star hospitality since the 19th century. Overlooking the Tuileries Garden, the hotel is known for its elegant rooms, stunning marble bathrooms, and artistic heritage—Salvador Dalí himself was a regular guest. Beyond the luxurious accommodations, Le Meurice offers fine dining at Restaurant Le Meurice Alain Ducasse, blending French classics with modern flair.

Later, she explored more of Paris, stopping by Notre-Dame to see the incredible four-year restoration project up close. She also had a private shopping experience at La Samaritaine, scouting the best luxury finds for KJ Travel clients. The night ended in style with the Crazy Horse cabaret show, followed by a stay at the Barrière Maison Hôtel. Along the way, she visited some of KJ Travel’s favorite hotels and caught up with top hoteliers to keep those VIP experiences coming!

Next Stop: Monaco

Kate’s next destination was The Fairmont Monte Carlo, an iconic luxury hotel perched above the Mediterranean. She arrived by helicopter from Nice, taking in breathtaking views of the French Riviera before landing just minutes from Monte Carlo. Known for its rooftop pool with panoramic sea views, the Fairmont is a hotspot for travelers seeking both relaxation and excitement—it even offers a front-row seat to Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix circuit. The hotel also has a lavish spa and several dining options, making it a luxurious base for her time in Monaco.

One Hotel, Two Experiences: Mexico Luxury Resorts for Families & Friends

Some hotels offer the best of both worlds—they can be the perfect spot for a weekend getaway with friends or a fun-filled family vacation. Some resorts master the art of blending family-friendly vibes with adult-only experiences, allowing you to have two totally different trips depending on who you bring along.

Solaz Los Cabos:

Solaz Los Cabos is well-known as a great resort for families, but it’s also an amazing destination for friend groups looking for a mix of relaxation and adventure. With its modern design, earthy tones, open spaces, and unique details, Solaz blends luxury with comfort. Plus, it has one of the rare swimmable beaches in Cabo, offering easy access to the beautiful coastline.

Solaz for a Girls' Trip:

Our advisor, Madelyn, recently visited Solaz for a girls' trip, and her days were packed with indulgence—spa treatments at Ojo de Liebre Spa, the only Thalassotherapy spa in Los Cabos, cocktails at the resort’s hidden speakeasy, and unwinding at the adults-only pool & beach club. From sunrise yoga to rooftop dining, there was never a dull moment!

Solaz for Families:

On the other hand, when Kate visited with her family, she had an entirely different experience. Families can take advantage of spacious suites and villas, ensuring plenty of room for everyone. Kids can splash around in the family-friendly pools, and while the adults sip cocktails, little ones can enjoy a Night at the Museum experience in the resort’s mini-museum. The whole family can bond over whale watching, hiking, and other exciting outdoor activities.

Rosewood Mayakoba

Rosewood Mayakoba for an Adults-Only Getaway:

If you’re looking for a mix of laid-back luxury and fun, Rosewood Mayakoba is the place. You can start your morning with a beachfront yoga session, spend the afternoon floating in your private plunge pool, and wrap up the day with a tequila tasting or dinner at the overwater restaurant. The adults-only areas make it easy to unwind, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can hop on a private boat tour or explore the nearby cenotes.

Rosewood Mayakoba for Families:

For families, this resort keeps things fun and stress-free. The Rosewood Explorers kids’ club has activities like nature walks, scavenger hunts, and even eco-tours through the mangroves. The resort’s boat taxis make getting around an adventure on their own, and the family-friendly pools and beachfront cabanas mean there’s plenty of space for everyone to relax. Whether you're building sandcastles, spotting wildlife, or just enjoying time together, it’s the perfect mix of fun and relaxation.

One and Only Mandarina

O&O Mandarina for a Friends’ Getaway:

O&O Mandarina has treehouse villas with plunge pools, sunset cocktails at a cliffside bar, and plenty of activities to keep things exciting. You can spend the day zip-lining through the jungle, horseback riding on the beach, or just lounging by the adults-only pool with a margarita in hand. If you’re in the mood for something extra special, book a private dinner under the stars or take a surf lesson in the nearby waves.

O&O Mandarina for Families:

For families, this resort is packed with fun things to do. The KidsOnly club keeps little ones entertained with nature hikes, treasure hunts, and even horseback riding. There are separate pools for kids and adults, so parents can relax while the kids splash around. Families can also go paddleboarding, take a guided jungle tour, or try a local cooking class together. It’s the kind of place where you can be as active or as relaxed as you want, and everyone in the family will find something they love.

Four Seasons Punta Mita:

Four Seasons for a Friends’ Getaway:

For adults there are experiences like tequila blending sessions, private yacht charters, and infinity pools overlooking the ocean. The sleek design and attentive service make it an excellent adults-only retreat.

Four Seasons for Families:

Kids can float along the lazy river, learn from marine biologists, and take surf lessons tailored just for them. The resort balances family fun with upscale experiences seamlessly.

Rosewood San Miguel de Allende

Rosewood San Miguel for a Friends’ Getaway:

If you’re heading to San Miguel de Allende with friends, Rosewood is the ultimate spot to soak up the city’s charm. You can sip cocktails on the rooftop with views, wander through colorful cobblestone streets, and dive into the city’s buzzing food scene. For something unique, try a private art tour, a mezcal tasting, or a hands-on cooking class. The hacienda-style suites are perfect for groups, and the lively atmosphere makes it easy to spend days exploring and nights enjoying the vibrant nightlife.

Rosewood San Miguel for a Families:

San Miguel isn’t just for grown-ups—there’s plenty for families too! Kids can join painting workshops, explore the nearby botanical gardens, or even take a family-friendly hot air balloon ride over the city. The resort has spacious villas that make it easy for everyone to spread out, plus pools for cooling off after a day of exploring.

San Miguel is also a really cool spring break alternative for families looking for something different from the usual beach vacation. Instead of sand and surf, you get colorful streets, rich history, and tons of unique experiences.

12 Palace Hotels in Paris

There are some five-star hotels in Paris that take luxury to the next level. In France, the Palace designation is the highest honor a hotel can receive, awarded only to the most outstanding properties by the French government. These hotels go beyond just being luxury places to stay—they offer incredible service, stunning architecture, rich history, and a level of prestige that makes them truly special.

To qualify as a Palace Hotel, a property must first be a five-star hotel and meet strict criteria set by Atout France, the country's official tourism agency. This includes having a prestigious location, personalized service, spacious accommodations, and a world-class spa. Additionally, hotels must demonstrate exceptional heritage or architectural significance, often housed in historic buildings or featuring iconic Parisian landmarks in their surroundings.

For example, the Shangri-La Paris is a former royal residence built for Prince Roland Bonaparte. Some Palace Hotels, like Hôtel Lutetia, are architectural gems from the Belle Époque or Art Nouveau era, contributing to their unique charm.

Here’s a look at the city's official Palace Hotels what makes them unique, where they are, and what you can experience there.

Le Meurice

Located on Rue de Rivoli, just steps from the Louvre Museum and Tuileries Garden, Le Meurice is a true Parisian icon. Since 1835, it has been known for its artistic flair, with interiors inspired by the Palace of Versailles. The hotel is home to a Michelin-starred restaurant run by Alain Ducasse, making it a perfect spot for food lovers. If you appreciate history and refined elegance, this hotel offers a classic yet stylish escape.

Hôtel Plaza Athénée

Sitting on Avenue Montaigne, the heart of Paris’ fashion district, Hôtel Plaza Athénée is where luxury meets haute couture. Famous for its bright red awnings and glamorous atmosphere, it has long been a favorite among fashion designers, celebrities, and jet-setters. Some rooms offer breathtaking Eiffel Tower views, and in the winter, the hotel even sets up its own ice rink, making it a magical place to stay year-round.

Le Royal Monceau

Located on Avenue Hoche, just steps from the Champs-Élysées and Arc de Triomphe. The hotel features an art-focused redesign by Philippe Starck, a vibrant bar called Le Bar Long, and exceptional dining options. These include: Matsuhisa Paris (Nobu's Japanese-Peruvian concept and the only Matsuhisa location in France) as well as Il Carpaccio, the hotel's Michelin-starred Italian restaurant. On Sundays, guests can enjoy a quintessential Parisian brunch at La Cuisine.

For relaxation, the expansive 1,500-square-meter Raffles Spa & Wellness offers a 23-meter pool and premium treatments. As a unique touch, the hotel's 99-seat Katara Cinema hosts monthly film screenings, a distinctly Parisian amenity you won't find at most hotels.

Le Bristol Paris

A short stroll from the Champs-Élysées, Le Bristol is an elegant hotel with a warm and inviting atmosphere. And, fun fact: it was the first hotel to receive the coveted Palace designation. Unlike some of the more lavish Palace hotels, Le Bristol has a more homey, family-friendly feel while still offering world-class luxury, making it one of the best luxury hotels for families with spacious suites, kid-friendly amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere. It features Epicure, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant, and a rare gem in Paris—a rooftop swimming pool with fantastic city views. It’s perfect for travelers looking for classic French charm with top-tier hospitality.

Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel

Overlooking Place de la Concorde, Hôtel de Crillon is one of Paris’ most prestigious addresses. Originally built in 1758 under the orders of King Louis XV, this hotel is a true piece of French history. After an extensive four-year renovation, the Crillon reopened as a Rosewood Hotel, blending its 18th-century grandeur with modern luxury. Inside, guests can experience exquisite craftsmanship, a world-class spa, and L’Écrin, the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant. With its historic significance and stunning interiors, it’s no surprise that Hôtel de Crillon holds the Palace distinction, making it one of the most sought-after stays in the city.

La Réserve Paris

Tucked away on Avenue Gabriel near the Grand Palais, La Réserve Paris is a hidden retreat that feels more like a private mansion than a hotel. With just 40 rooms and suites, plus a few exclusive apartments, it offers an intimate, ultra-personalized experience that sets it apart from larger luxury hotels. Many rooms have balconies with stunning Eiffel Tower views, and the hotel’s spa is one of the best in the city. If you’re looking for a quiet, luxurious escape in the heart of Paris with the feeling of a private residence, this is the place to be.

Shangri-La Paris

Once a royal residence, the Shangri-La Paris offers one of the most breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower in the entire city. Located near the Seine, this hotel blends French elegance with Asian hospitality. Inside, you'll find grand staircases, marble-clad interiors, and two Michelin-starred restaurants, including one specializing in Chinese fine dining. If you want to wake up to an Eiffel Tower view right outside your window, this hotel is an unbeatable choice

Mandarin Oriental Paris

Located on Rue Saint-Honoré, right in the heart of one of Paris’ best shopping districts, Mandarin Oriental Paris combines classic Parisian charm with Asian-inspired tranquility. The hotel boasts a lush inner courtyard, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant, and a serene spa that provides a peaceful retreat from the city’s bustle.

Hôtel Lutetia

The only Palace hotel on the Left Bank, Hôtel Lutetia is a historic Art Nouveau gem located in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, a neighborhood famous for its cafés and artistic heritage. Writers, musicians, and intellectuals have gathered here for decades, making it a cultural landmark as much as a luxury hotel. Don’t miss the hotel’s lively Josephine Bar with live music!

Four Seasons Hotel George V

Just off the Champs-Élysées, the Four Seasons Hotel George V is a dream for food lovers, boasting three Michelin-starred restaurants. The hotel is also known for its grand floral arrangements, creating an atmosphere of elegance from the moment you walk in. It’s a timeless, sophisticated choice for anyone looking to experience Parisian luxury at its finest.

The Peninsula Paris

Avenue Kléber, near the Arc de Triomphe, is home to The Peninsula Paris. One of its highlights is the rooftop terrace, offering panoramic views of the Eiffel Tower, making it a perfect spot for a romantic evening. The hotel even provides Rolls-Royce car service for its guests, ensuring that every detail of your stay is truly first-class.

Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme

Situated near Place Vendôme and Opéra Garnier, Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme is a more contemporary take on the Palace hotel experience. Its minimalist, stylish design sets it apart from the more ornate hotels in Paris, offering a sleek and modern alternative in a central location.

Each of these Palace hotels offers a unique experience, whether you want a room with an Eiffel Tower view, a Michelin-starred dining experience, or a quiet retreat in the heart of the city, there’s a Palace hotel for you.

Know Before You Go: New UK Entry Requirements for Travelers in 2025

We love planning vacations to the UK—whether you're exploring the historic streets of London or venturing into the scenic countryside. But starting in 2025, travelers from visa-exempt countries will be required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before visiting the United Kingdom for short stays. This new requirement applies to most visitors who do not require a visa to enter the UK.

What is the UK ETA?

The Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is a digital entry permit required for short visits to the UK for purposes such as:

  • Tourism

  • Business trips

  • Short-term study

  • Visiting family and friends

Who Needs an ETA?

All travelers from visa-exempt countries will need an ETA. However, you do not need an ETA if you:

  • Already have a UK visa

  • Have permission to live, work, or study in the UK

  • Hold British or Irish citizenship

When Does This Rule Take Effect?

  • For non-European travelers: The ETA requirement begins on January 8, 2025.

  • For European travelers: The requirement starts on April 2, 2025.

How to Apply for an ETA?

Applying for an ETA is simple and can be done online or via the “UK ETA” mobile app. The process involves:

  • Submitting personal and passport details

  • Uploading a passport-style photo

  • Answering basic travel and security-related questions

  • Paying a £10 application fee

  • Waiting for approval (Processing time is usually within three business days)

How Long is the ETA Valid?

Once approved, an ETA is valid for multiple visits over two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.

London has so much to offer, from historic landmarks to vibrant neighborhoods. There’s something for everyone, including plenty of family-friendly activities! We take care of all the details so all you have to do is enjoy the trip. When you're ready to start planning, fill out our inquiry form, and we'll handle the rest! The Ultimate Bucket List: 7 Dream Trips You Need to Book in Advance

Some trips are worth the extra planning and these once-in-a-lifetime experiences book up fast—so you’ll want to lock in your spot at least 9-12 months ahead. Here’s your guide to the top bucket-list trips that need early planning.

1. Go on an African Safari

An African safari is the ultimate adventure for wildlife enthusiasts. The best time to visit depends on your desired experience:

  • The Great Migration (Tanzania & Kenya): Witness millions of wildebeest cross the Serengeti and Masai Mara. Best seen July–October (Kenya) and December–March (Tanzania).

  • Birthing Season (Tanzania): See thousands of newborn wildebeest and predator action in the Southern Serengeti (January–March).

  • Gorilla Trekking (Rwanda & Uganda): Secure permits early for treks in Bwindi or Volcanoes National Park, best during June–September and December–February.

  • Botswana’s Okavango Delta: Experience water-based safaris during the May–October flood season.

Spots in top safari lodges fill up fast, so booking early ensures front-row seats to one of nature’s greatest spectacles.

2. See Cherry Blossoms in Japan

Japan’s famous cherry blossoms, known as sakura, bloom for only a few short weeks (late March to early April), creating a breathtaking landscape. Whether you're strolling through Kyoto’s ancient temples or enjoying a picnic under Tokyo’s pink canopy, you’ll want to book your stay early. Hotels and flights sell out fast during this season, so planning ahead means you won’t miss out on this moment.

3. Sail Away on an Around-the-World Cruise

If you’ve ever dreamed of visiting multiple continents in one epic trip, an around-the-world cruise is the way to go. These luxurious, multi-month adventures take you to bucket-list destinations across the globe. Since cabins are limited and itineraries are exclusive, booking a year (or more) in advance guarantees your dream route and best accommodations.

4. Explore Antarctica: The Last Frontier

Want to see glaciers, penguins, and the most untouched landscapes on Earth? An Antarctica cruise is the definition of an off-the-beaten-path adventure. Since the travel season is short (November–March) and visitor numbers are restricted to protect the ecosystem, securing your spot early is a must.

5. Experience Christmas Magic in Lapland

If you love winter wonderlands, Christmas in Lapland is pure magic. Think cozy igloos, reindeer sleigh rides, and Santa's village. Because it’s one of the most festive (and busiest) times of the year, booking your Arctic adventure early ensures you get the best lodges and unforgettable experiences with Santa himself.

6. See the Northern Lights in Iceland

Watching the Northern Lights dance across the Icelandic sky is pure magic. The best time to see them is between September and March, but since the best remote lodges and aurora tours sell out quickly, planning ahead is a must. Pro tip: staying in a glass igloo or a cozy cabin in the middle of nowhere makes the experience even more unforgettable!

These bucket-list trips are more than just vacations—they’re experiences that will stay with you forever. A little extra planning goes a long way, and we can help secure the best spots, accommodations, book flights, and organize all the details so you can focus on those once-in-a-lifetime moments.

London & Finland, a Winter Duo

Last month, our advisor Kate experienced the best of both Finland and London to ring in the New Year with her family. Her journey inspired us to share this winter pairing that’s definitely worth adding to your bucket list. She started in Finland, diving into the magic of snowy landscapes, thrilling dog sled rides, and meeting a fifth-generation reindeer herder. From there, she headed to London, where cozy cafes, bustling markets, and a vibrant arts scene brought warmth to the chilly season.

Finland:

Kate’s adventure began in Ruka, Finland, where she stayed at the welcoming and authentic chalets. These chalets offer a truly Finnish experience, they even have up to four bedrooms perfect for mutiple families traveling together They are known for their cozy log-cabin style and private saunas set by the shores of a frozen lake. Their first evening was spent exploring Ruka Village and visiting Santa’s Cottage, a charming introduction to the wonders of Lapland.

Husky Safaris & Smoke Saunas

One of the most exciting parts of Kate’s trip was the husky safari, gliding through snowy trails behind a team of eager sled dogs. Dog sledding has been around for thousands of years. These amazing dogs can run for hours with endless enthusiasm. Afterward, Kate warmed up in a traditional smoke sauna, a Finnish ritual that’s all about relaxation and rejuvenation. She also took things a step further with an unforgettable experience: taking a cold plunge into a frozen lake. It was exhilarating and left her feeling recharged and deeply connected to the Arctic surroundings.

Reindeer & Snowshoe Adventures

Meeting reindeer up close was another highlight. In Finnish Lapland, reindeer outnumber people and play a huge role in Sami culture, where herding has been a way of life for centuries. Kate also went snowshoeing, wandering through peaceful forests with snow-dusted trees and frozen lakes all around—a truly magical way to connect with nature.

Snowmobiles & Santa Claus Village

Kate’s adventures didn’t stop there. She took a snowmobile tour, zipping across frozen landscapes under a pale winter sun. Her time in Finland wrapped up with a visit to Santa Claus Village, where she sent postcards from the official Santa Post Office and soaked in the festive atmosphere.

The local food was a highlight too. Kate loved the creamy artichoke soup, smoked salmon, reindeer stew and and Karelian pies topped with egg butter. And after long days in the cold, a cup of glögi (spiced mulled wine) was the perfect way to warm up.

London:

Kate landed in the vibrant streets of London. She stayed at two stunning hotels: The Beaumont Hotel and Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park.

The Beaumont Hotel

Located in Mayfair, The Beaumont Hotel combined cozy comfort with Art Deco elegance.  Mayfair is also the future home of the luxurious Auberge London – Cambridge House, opening late 2025, which adds another layer of excitement to this vibrant neighborhood.

The Beaumont is small, with just 50 rooms and 22 suites, which makes it feel incredibly personal and intimate. The location is ideal; Hyde Park is just a short walk away if you’re craving some fresh air, and some of London’s best shopping streets and restaurants are practically on the doorstep. It’s also super convenient for exploring landmarks like Buckingham Palace or Bond Street, which is perfect if you want to make the most of your time in the city. She loved winding down at Le Magritte Bar & Terrace after her busy days.

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park has the best of both worlds: you’ve got Hyde Park’s green space on one side and the chic energy of Knightsbridge and Mayfair on the other. The hotel has 181 rooms and suites, many with views of Hyde Park, which is such a rare treat in London. What’s also exciting is that Mandarin Oriental just opened their new Mayfair property nearby. It’s sleek and modern, offering a completely different feel, but together, these two hotels really show off the best sides of London.

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park has the best of both worlds: you’ve got Hyde Park’s green space on one side and the chic energy of Knightsbridge and Mayfair on the other. Hyde Park Winter Festival & Theatre Nights

Kate dove into London’s festive spirit at the Hyde Park Winter Festival, where the holiday cheer was contagious. As one of the largest and most festive Christmas markets in the UK, it’s a must-visit destination for the holiday season. Dinner at Inamo Covent Garden with its interactive tables was a fun experience, followed by a night at the theatre watching Mamma Mia!, which had everyone singing along.

Harry Potter Studios

A visit to The Making of Harry Potter studios brought the magic of the Wizarding World to life. You’ll see real costumes, iconic props, and even ride a broomstick. The Hogwarts Express is a highlight, perfect for that classic photo op.

If you’re curious about how the movies were made, there are behind-the-scenes exhibits showing everything from animatronics to the creation of mythical creatures.

There are ticket options for everyone—self-guided tours, VIP experiences, and even an exclusive Afternoon Tea right in the studios. And if you’re visiting around the holidays, you might catch the sets decked out in festive décor, including a snowy Hogwarts!

East London’s Creative Side

Kate spent a day in East London, exploring Spitalfields and Shoreditch. This neighborhood is a mix of history and modern culture.

Her day started with a walking tour, where she learned the stories behind the art—this area was an early stomping ground for Banksy, and now it’s an outdoor gallery for artists from all over the world. They even got to try out graffiti during a workshop with a local artist (spoiler: it’s harder than it looks!). The day also featured some incredible eats, including Brick Lane bagels and Instagram-famous hot chocolate.

This mix of Finland’s snowy landscapes and London’s lively energy made for a unique and super fun winter getaway. Winter doesn’t have to mean staying cooped up inside. It can be about trying new things, embracing the season, and making incredible memories—just like Kate did. If this inspired you, reach out, and let's start planning your own winter escape!

Lenni’s Southeast Asia Adventure: Exploring Singapore and Thailand

Southeast Asia is a must-visit destination for travelers seeking an incredible mix of culture, food, and adventure. Our advisor, Lenni, recently explored Singapore and Thailand and shared all the essential details.

SINGAPORE

Singapore is often considered a great introduction to Southeast Asia. It’s clean, modern, and easy to navigate, with a fantastic food scene and a highly efficient train system. Marina Bay Sands is a perfect base, offering plenty of dining and shopping options. For those who prefer ride-sharing services like Grab, getting around the city is straightforward and convenient.

For hotels, Marina Bay Sands is known for its iconic infinity pool, while nearby options like the Ritz-Carlton, Mandarin Oriental, or Raffles Hotel provide a more personalized and luxurious experience. Each offers something unique, from sleek modern amenities to historic colonial charm.

Singapore is ideal for a short stay—three full days are just the right amount of time to explore highlights like the Gardens by the Bay, Orchard Road, Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Glam. Don’t miss the rooftop bars and Michelin-starred street food, which offer both local flavors and spectacular views. If you have extra time before your next destination, Changi Airport is worth exploring—it’s home to an indoor waterfall, gardens, and even a butterfly sanctuary! Yiy can use luggage lockers to explore comfortably if traveling with carry-ons.

THAILAND

Lenni’s adventure through Thailand was filled with incredible experiences that blended culture, relaxation, and adventure. From island hopping in Phuket to learning to cook authentic Thai dishes in Chiang Mai, and exploring Bangkok’s vibrant markets and food halls, her journey highlighted the best of this diverse country.

Phuket:
Lenni’s time in Phuket started with an unforgettable trip to the Phi Phi Islands, where she soaked up the turquoise waters and stunning limestone cliffs. She began her stay in the southernmost part of Phuket and gradually moved up the coast, enjoying the scenic views along the way.

Her home base was the Rosewood Phuket, where she indulged in mornings with breakfast by the pool and even took jumping classes. The resort’s tranquil setting and luxurious amenities made it the perfect place to relax after exploring.

Chiang Mai:

Next, Lenni headed to Chiang Mai, where she stayed at the InterContinental Chiang Mai. Her days were filled with unique and meaningful experiences, like visiting an elephant sanctuary and learning about conservation efforts. She also made the most of Thailand’s famous massages, enjoying multiple sessions for just $9 each.

One of the highlights of her time here was taking a songthaew up the mountain to visit a hill tribe village, where she learned a few words in their local dialect. The region is known for producing coffee beans, peaches, and persimmons, which added a flavorful touch to her cultural experience.

Lenni also explored Chiang Mai’s vibrant food scene by taking a local market tour and a cooking class. She loved picking fresh herbs and vegetables from the organic garden and learned to make dishes like Khao Soi and Pad Thai. During her visit, she checked out one of her favorite boutique hotels, 137 Pillars Hotels and Resorts, where every suite features spacious outdoor patios—a true hidden gem in the heart of the city.

Bangkok:
Lenni’s final stop was Bangkok, where the energy of the city was unlike anywhere else. She stayed at the luxurious Peninsula Bangkok Hotel, which offers complimentary boat transfers to nearby areas. Lenni loved exploring the city by boat, train, and tuk-tuk, guided by a local expert.

She visited iconic landmarks like the Grand Palace, the Jim Thompson House Museum, and the famous Maeklong Railway Market, where vendors swiftly pack up their stalls as the train passes through.

Lenni is a big fan of food halls in Bangkok’s shopping malls, where she discovered a mix of local and international flavors. She also went on a Chinatown food tour, where she tried unique dishes like milk pork skewers, durian, and even sampled some bugs—an adventurous highlight of her trip!

Before leaving, Lenni visited the stunning Four Seasons Bangkok, which features incredible suites with prime river views. And here’s something exciting—Six Senses The Forestias is opening in 2025, bringing a new level of luxury to the city! Thailand’s first urban Aman Hotel, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, will also open soon, set within Nai Lert Park, a lush sanctuary in the heart of Bangkok.

Essential Tips for Southeast Asia

  • Dress Codes: Temples in Thailand have strict dress codes. Make sure your shoulders and knees are covered if you are wanting to enter. Luckily, there are clothing/sarong shops around the temples that you can pick up a covering on your way there, if needed!

  • Cash is King: While luxury hotels and high-end restaurants accept cards, most other places in Thailand only take cash, especially at the markets. There are plenty of ATMs all around the cities, airports, etc., making it easy to take out cash throughout your trip.

Southeast Asia offers an incredible variety of experiences, from the cosmopolitan appeal of Singapore to the cultural richness of Thailand. It’s a region full of contrasts—ultra-modern cities, ancient traditions, serene beaches, and vibrant street life. Southeast Asia is just the beginning of what Asia has to offer. If you’re inspired to explore further, consider adding Japan to your travel list. Our guide to Japan’s top attractions will help you uncover all the unique wonders of this amazing country.

Family Holiday in England: Christmas in London, Oxfordshire & Hampshire

Our travel advisor Brynne spent the holidays in England with her family, visiting London, Oxfordshire, and Hampshire. This trip was a mix of city buzz and countryside calm, with a focus on experiencing Christmas magic in the United Kingdom.

LONDON

London never disappoints, and Brynne was long overdue for a trip back to one of her favorite cities. They started their holiday here, diving straight into the hustle and bustle. Fighting off jet lag, they had brunch at the fabulous Chiltern Firehouse and rode around the city in an iconic double-decker bus—her girls’ number one request! Another dining highlight was a brunch-time tea at Sketch. The golden tea room is gorgeous, and Brynne’s girls thought they were in a fairy tale!

They stayed at Hotel Café Royal, which perfectly balances historic charm and modern luxury, with 160 beautifully designed rooms and suites. Its location? Spot on. It’s just steps from Regent Street, perfect for a bit of shopping, and a short walk to Piccadilly Circus for those iconic London strolls under the Regent Street lights. The best part? Viewing the lights from their Regent Suite and avoiding the crowds!

London in winter has its own kind of magic, and the family made the most of it. At Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, they wandered through twinkling lights, enjoyed festive rides, and explored endless market stalls. Brynne highly recommends visiting Winter Wonderland on a weekday when schools are still in session in London. As one of the largest and most festive Christmas markets in the UK, it’s a must-visit destination for the holiday season. Of course, Europe is home to many other incredible markets, and if you’re a fan of festive markets, London is a fantastic starting point for exploring the magic of European Christmas markets.

For a bit of history, they joined the "In Churchill’s Footsteps" tour, which brought Winston Churchill’s incredible life story to light. Because no London trip is complete without a show, they caught The Lion King at The Lyceum Theatre. Her daughters, ages 7 and 5, absolutely loved it!

OXFORDSHIRE

After soaking up London’s buzz, Brynne and her family headed to Oxfordshire, where the pace slowed, and the views stretched wide. Their home base here was Estelle Manor, a countryside retreat that feels like a scene from a movie. Imagine rolling parklands—over 3,000 acres of it—wrapping you in peaceful serenity. The setting was superb, with roaring fires under beautiful garlands adorned with velvet ribbons, and a heated swimming pool with a twinkling Christmas tree in the background!

One of the highlights? Falconry. It’s not every day you get to hold such amazing creatures on your arm and see them up close. It was a "wow" moment for the whole family. And when they weren’t out with the birds, they were skating with their daughters on the seasonal Estelle Ice Rink! The girls also loved driving the sage green “Little Landies.”

Evenings at Estelle Manor were something special, too. The food was some of the best Brynne has ever had while traveling. From British classics like Beef Wellington to a black truffle risotto she still thinks about, they filled their cups (and bellies) at beautiful candlelit tables.

HAMPSHIRE

The final leg of their trip took them to the Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire, a Georgian manor tucked into the rolling hills of the English countryside. This place was everything they dreamed of and more, made even better by the Hunter boot-themed Christmas decorations! The welcome to their Belvedere Suite was completely over the top, with personalized treats for their girls.

Their days were filled with countryside adventures. Her daughters adored pony grooming, while the adults joined in for horse riding. The estate itself had gorgeous grounds offering picture-perfect moments at every turn. While her girls enjoyed festive crafts and fun at the Kids Club, the adults took part in an afternoon tea that was truly spectacular. Brynne still sips on the Four Seasons signature blend every morning at home.

The spa, set in a converted 18th-century stable, was the ultimate place to relax and reflect on the trip. One of the most memorable nights was an en suite magic show to celebrate her husband Andrew’s birthday with the in-house magician. It was such a delightful pre-dinner activity! Meals at The Wild Carrot featured fresh, seasonal ingredients throughout.

Brynne’s holiday trip to England shows how you can enjoy the excitement of the city, the tranquility of the countryside, and create unforgettable family memories. While this trip was during the festive season, destinations like London, Hampshire, and Oxfordshire are also fantastic destinations for a spring break alternative. They offer a refreshing change of pace from traditional beach vacations, with opportunities to explore historic landmarks, picturesque countryside estates, and vibrant city life.

Japan is quickly becoming a top destination for travelers worldwide, and it’s easy to see why. With its vibrant cities, rich history, stunning natural landscapes, and world-renowned hospitality, Japan offers an experience like no other. Our travel advisor Kate recently returned from a long-awaited journey through Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hakone, bringing back insider tips and recommendations. Her itinerary covers must-see spots and unique experiences—ideal for travelers seeking a blend of cultural immersion, relaxation, and exceptional dining.

Tokyo:

Kate’s first stop was the Bulgari Hotel Tokyo in Tokyo Midtown Yaesu, close to some of the best things to do in Tokyo, including the Imperial Palace, Ginza’s luxury shops, and the lively Marunouchi business area. This sleek hotel offers 98 rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, a rooftop bar with views of Tokyo Tower, a luxurious spa, and a 25-meter indoor pool—ideal for those wanting elegance in the heart of the city.

Experiences & Dining:
In Tokyo, Kate enjoyed an Old Tokyo Food Walk Tour, tasting traditional snacks and exploring Tokyo’s historic neighborhoods. She also explored Tokyo’s famous knife shops, taking home a beautifully crafted Japanese knife—an iconic souvenir from Japan. For dining, an omakase experience at Sushi Ya introduced her to Tokyo’s world-renowned sushi, followed by cocktails at Ginza Music Bar, a cozy spot with vinyl records and custom drinks.

Kyoto:

Kate traveled to Kyoto on the Shinkansen bullet train—2 hour, scenic journey and an experience in itself for those seeking the best way to travel in Japan.

Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto was her first stop, and it’s all about luxury with a touch of tranquility. The hotel is right near Nijo Castle, and it has these private onsen baths that let you soak in total relaxation. The beautifully landscaped gardens and world-class spa made it the perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing.

Then there was the Four Seasons Kyoto, where everything revolves around this stunning 800-year-old pond garden. The setting was pure magic, and the modern-meets-traditional design of the hotel was a perfect reflection of Kyoto itself. Plus, with amazing dining options and a luxurious spa, it was a place Kate didn’t want to leave.

Her final stay was at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, right by the Kamogawa River. This hotel nailed the balance between sleek, modern comfort and traditional Japanese aesthetics. The rooms were beautifully designed, and with a Michelin-starred restaurant on-site, it was a total treat for the senses.

Experiences & Dining:
Kyoto’s highlights included exploring Nishiki Market, the city’s famous food hub, and visiting iconic landmarks like the Fushimi Inari Taisha with its red torii gates, the glittering Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji), and the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Grove.

To connect with tradition, Kate participated in a tea ceremony and kimono experience, a perfect way to immerse herself in Japanese culture. Her evenings were filled with flavors on a Gion Food Tour, sampling Kyoto’s culinary delights, and ending the day with fun at a karaoke bar.

Osaka:

Known as the food capital of Japan, Osaka is all about flavor and fun, making it a fantastic contrast to the elegance of Kyoto.

Experiences & Dining:
In Osaka, Kate sampled must-try Japanese street foods, such as gyoza and okonomiyaki (savory pancakes), in the heart of the vibrant food districts.

Hakone:

After the excitement of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, Kate traveled to Hakone, a peaceful retreat known for its hot springs, scenic landscapes, and views of Mount Fuji—a popular destination for those looking to experience Japan’s natural beauty.

In Hakone, she experienced Gora Kadan, a high-end ryokan and former Imperial Family villa, known for its historical charm and luxurious amenities, including private hot springs and traditional Japanese rooms.

Oh, and if family-friendly resorts are your thing, we’ve rounded up even more spots in our guide to family-friendly resorts in Cabo.

Las Ventanas al Paraíso

If you’re craving something more intimate, Las Ventanas al Paraíso is the dream. From the moment you arrive, it’s pure magic—think private pools, candlelit dinners under the stars, and spa treatments tailored just for you. The food is incredible too, with every meal feeling like its own experience. Whether it’s breakfast with ocean views or a private dinner on the beach, you’ll leave feeling completely spoiled.

Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol

The Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol is Cabo’s newest luxury spot, and it’s already a total standout. It strikes the perfect balance between laid-back vibes and high-end touches, making it great for everyone—from adventurous couples to families.

Into staying active? You’ve got golf, hiking, and water sports right at your fingertips. Families will love it too—Four Seasons is known for being super kid-friendly, and this place is no exception. They’ve thought of everything to keep kids and teens entertained while parents get some much-needed downtime.
