Rooms are spacious and luxurious, with oversized soaking tubs, but travelers should note: ground-floor Vineyard View rooms face the parking lot, so the Mountain View rooms are worth the upgrade for privacy. KJT advisor Melissa recently visited and called the service, design, and dining a standout, especially the Michelin-starred Auro, where select guests can dine right inside the chef’s kitchen. Add in bikes for exploring town, a scenic pool setup, and festive touches during the holidays, and for a touch of adventure, guests can explore the valley in style with the resort's luxury Dream Drive Experience or have the Concierge book a hot-air balloon ride.

Stay at the iconic Post Ranch Inn, where treehouse-like suites open to ocean views, and days begin with guided hikes and end with wine by a wood-burning fire. If you have a full week, we love combining this hard-to-reach destination with another stop or two along the West Coast adding in golf, wineries, or beachside escapes.

Urban Culture with a Side of Mezcal
When camp drop-off is behind you and you're craving close-to-home culture, Mexico City is a great solution.  From its buzzy restaurant scene to contemporary art galleries and rooftop cocktails, this city pulses with adult energy. For a longer stay you can visit Chichen Itza pyramids, take a hot air balloon ride over Teotihuacan or maybe even take a cooking or mixology class. Perfect for couples who thrive on city energy, late nights, and architectural eye candy.

Just as kids grow through camp, parents thrive with time away. One Hotel, Two Experiences: Mexico Luxury Resorts for Families & Friends

Some hotels offer the best of both worlds—they can be the perfect spot for a weekend getaway with friends or a fun-filled family vacation. Some resorts master the art of blending family-friendly vibes with adult-only experiences, allowing you to have two totally different trips depending on who you bring along.

Solaz Los Cabos:

Solaz Los Cabos is well-known as a great resort for families, but it’s also an amazing destination for friend groups looking for a mix of relaxation and adventure. With its modern design, earthy tones, open spaces, and unique details, Solaz blends luxury with comfort. Plus, it has one of the rare swimmable beaches in Cabo, offering easy access to the beautiful coastline.

Solaz for a Girls' Trip:

Our advisor, Madelyn, recently visited Solaz for a girls' trip, and her days were packed with indulgence—spa treatments at Ojo de Liebre Spa, the only Thalassotherapy spa in Los Cabos, cocktails at the resort’s hidden speakeasy, and unwinding at the adults-only pool & beach club. From sunrise yoga to rooftop dining, there was never a dull moment!

Solaz for Families:

On the other hand, when Kate visited with her family, she had an entirely different experience. Families can take advantage of spacious suites and villas, ensuring plenty of room for everyone. Kids can splash around in the family-friendly pools, and while the adults sip cocktails, little ones can enjoy a Night at the Museum experience in the resort’s mini-museum. The whole family can bond over whale watching, hiking, and other exciting outdoor activities.

Rosewood Mayakoba

Rosewood Mayakoba for an Adults-Only Getaway:

If you’re looking for a mix of laid-back luxury and fun, Rosewood Mayakoba is the place. You can start your morning with a beachfront yoga session, spend the afternoon floating in your private plunge pool, and wrap up the day with a tequila tasting or dinner at the overwater restaurant. The adults-only areas make it easy to unwind, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can hop on a private boat tour or explore the nearby cenotes.

Rosewood Mayakoba for Families:

For families, this resort keeps things fun and stress-free. The Rosewood Explorers kids’ club has activities like nature walks, scavenger hunts, and even eco-tours through the mangroves. The resort’s boat taxis make getting around an adventure on their own, and the family-friendly pools and beachfront cabanas mean there’s plenty of space for everyone to relax. Whether you're building sandcastles, spotting wildlife, or just enjoying time together, it’s the perfect mix of fun and relaxation.

One and Only Mandarina

O&O Mandarina for a Friends’ Getaway:

O&O Mandarina has treehouse villas with plunge pools, sunset cocktails at a cliffside bar, and plenty of activities to keep things exciting. You can spend the day zip-lining through the jungle, horseback riding on the beach, or just lounging by the adults-only pool with a margarita in hand. If you’re in the mood for something extra special, book a private dinner under the stars or take a surf lesson in the nearby waves.

O&O Mandarina for Families:

For families, this resort is packed with fun things to do. The KidsOnly club keeps little ones entertained with nature hikes, treasure hunts, and even horseback riding. There are separate pools for kids and adults, so parents can relax while the kids splash around. Families can also go paddleboarding, take a guided jungle tour, or try a local cooking class together. It’s the kind of place where you can be as active or as relaxed as you want, and everyone in the family will find something they love.

Four Seasons Punta Mita:

Four Seasons for a Friends’ Getaway:

For adults there are experiences like tequila blending sessions, private yacht charters, and infinity pools overlooking the ocean. The sleek design and attentive service make it an excellent adults-only retreat.

Four Seasons for Families:

Kids can float along the lazy river, learn from marine biologists, and take surf lessons tailored just for them. The resort balances family fun with upscale experiences seamlessly.

Rosewood San Miguel de Allende

Rosewood San Miguel for a Friends’ Getaway:

If you’re heading to San Miguel de Allende with friends, Rosewood is the ultimate spot to soak up the city’s charm. You can sip cocktails on the rooftop with views, wander through colorful cobblestone streets, and dive into the city’s buzzing food scene. For something unique, try a private art tour, a mezcal tasting, or a hands-on cooking class. The hacienda-style suites are perfect for groups, and the lively atmosphere makes it easy to spend days exploring and nights enjoying the vibrant nightlife.

Rosewood San Miguel for a Families:

San Miguel isn’t just for grown-ups—there’s plenty for families too! Kids can join painting workshops, explore the nearby botanical gardens, or even take a family-friendly hot air balloon ride over the city. The resort has spacious villas that make it easy for everyone to spread out, plus pools for cooling off after a day of exploring.

San Miguel is also a really cool spring break alternative for families looking for something different from the usual beach vacation. Instead of sand and surf, you get colorful streets, rich history, and tons of unique experiences.

The beauty of luxury travel is that you don’t have to choose between a family vacation and an epic trip with friends—some resorts let you enjoy both.

We love helping our clients find the perfect resort or hotel depending on the trip they’re looking for. Whether it’s sipping cocktails by the pool or planning unforgettable kid-friendly adventures, we’re here to make sure you find the perfect place for your next getaway!

Exploring The Dunlin and Charleston’s Best Hotels

Our travel advisor Marika just got back from a visit to The Dunlin, a stunning new resort tucked away along the picturesque Kiawah River, just outside Charleston, South Carolina. She got to experience the Lowcountry charm, explore exciting outdoor activities, and bring back the best insider tips. Along the way, she also spent some time in downtown Charleston at two of the city’s top luxury hotels: The Bennett and The Dewberry.

The Dunlin

The Dunlin, part of Auberge Resorts, is all about blending that easy Lowcountry charm with just the right amount of luxury. Nestled along the Kiawah River, it’s a place where you can truly unplug—kicking back by the pool with a drink or exploring marshlands on a boating trip. The resort offers a mix of beautifully designed rooms and private cottages and is a great option for romantic getaways, family vacations, or solo travelers looking for a peaceful escape.

One of Marika’s favorite parts of the trip was the farm experience at the resort’s Goatery. Imagine meeting playful goats, gathering your own eggs from the chicken coop and posing for photos with the pigs - who knew farming could be so fun? For food lovers, the dining options at The Dunlin don’t disappoint. They offer casual bites by the pool at The Cove and Southern-inspired dishes at Linnette’s.

When you’re not eating or lounging, there’s plenty to explore. A saltmarsh boating adventure gives you a glimpse of the area’s natural beauty, while a few hours by the pool in a private cabana is just what you need to recharge. The best part? Everything here feels easygoing yet luxurious—no stuffy vibes, just pure relaxation.

Charleston

After her time at The Dunlin, Marika headed to downtown Charleston for a change of pace, checking out two of the city’s best hotels: The Bennett and The Dewberry. Both hotels offer a unique experience, so no matter your vibe, there’s something for everyone.

The Bennett

For those who appreciate classic elegance and modern comfort, The Bennett Hotel is a perfect choice. Located on King Street, right in the heart of Charleston’s best shopping, dining, and cultural attractions, The Bennett makes it easy to explore the city. With 179 rooms and suites, the hotel feels luxurious without being over the top—think cozy bedding, sophisticated touches, and large windows offering stunning views of the city streets.

No stay at The Bennett is complete without a visit to its rooftop bar, Camellias, where you can sip champagne while taking in panoramic views of the Charleston skyline. Dining at Gabrielle, The Bennett’s signature restaurant, is another highlight. Serving Southern cuisine with a creative twist, the restaurant showcases local ingredients and seasonal dishes, making it a culinary experience not to be missed.

Staying at The Bennett puts you just steps away from Charleston’s top boutiques and art galleries. You’re also a short walk from the historic waterfront, making it easy to explore Charleston’s historic district and enjoy everything the city has to offer.

The Dewberry

For those looking for something a little more boutique-y, The Dewberry is a dream. This hotel sits in a renovated federal building, giving it a cool mix of mid-century style with a nod to Charleston’s historic roots. With only 155 rooms and suites, it feels intimate and special—like you’re staying somewhere with a story to tell.

The Dewberry’s Living Room is a cozy, beautifully designed lounge where you can unwind with a craft cocktail after a day of sightseeing. The space has become a favorite spot for both guests and locals, offering a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere for socializing or simply unwinding with a good drink. Don’t miss watching the sunset at their rooftop bar, Citrus Club, for some of the best views of the water and the city.

And with its location near Marion Square in the heart of downtown Charleston, The Dewberry offers easy access to farmers markets, museums, and galleries, making it an excellent choice for travelers who want to experience Charleston’s creative side.

Both The Bennett and The Dewberry offer their own unique take on Charleston’s hospitality. The Bennett is grand and elegant, while The Dewberry is artistic and intimate. You really can’t go wrong with either one!

Marika’s time at The Dunlin and Charleston gave her the best of both worlds: relaxing by the river and soaking up the charm of the Lowcountry, followed by a couple of nights in a lively, historic city. It’s the perfect combo if you want a little bit of everything—nature, culture, luxury, and relaxation.

If this sounds like your kind of trip, we’re here to help you plan every step of the way. From kayaking through the marshes to sipping champagne on a rooftop bar, we’ll make sure every detail is just right!

Mexico City: Best Activities, Dining Hotspots, and Accommodations

Recently, Kate had the pleasure of exploring Mexico City, known for its rich history, vibrant culture, and of course, how big it is. But don’t worry we’re here to help you navigate it.

When it comes to staying in Mexico City, the options are as diverse as the city itself. We split our stay between Casa Polanco and the Four Seasons Mexico City. While these two options are among the best in the city, they are very different. Casa Polanco which opened in May 2022 was a quiet retreat in the lively Polanco area, offering a sleek design with 19 rooms and top-notch service. One of the place's highlights was their complimentary high tea in the afternoon.

The Four Seasons, with its prime location and lush gardens, delivered luxury at every turn. Their spa offers a unique mix of traditional Mexican healing techniques and modern luxury. With an Instagrammable courtyard and the Fifty Mils bar, recognized as one of the top bars in the world, it's no wonder guests are always impressed. We're also eagerly anticipating the upcoming room renovations!

The buzz is all about the Rosewood Mexico City, which is set to open in 2025 in Polanco. It's set to join the ranks of favorites like The Ritz Carlton, a high-rise luxury building.

Some of our favorite things to do?

Every Saturday in the barrio of San Angel, there's an outdoor artisan market. The market itself is exclusive to Saturdays, but the shops lining the streets leading to the main square, along with the restaurants, are open throughout the week. We dined at Hacienda de San Angel, known for its delicious margaritas! We also tried Lardo, a hip Mexican-European fusion restaurant that we highly recommend. Dining at Pujol is a must, but be sure to make a reservation in advance. Also, don't miss out on eating at Contramar to try the delicious fish dishes.

Shopping was an experience in itself, with Polanco and La Roma offering everything from unique local crafts to designer labels.

The National Museum of Anthropology is a must and the city is also full of family-friendly activities that promise fun for visitors of all ages. Some activities include the zoo and interactive museums like Papalote Museo del Niño. Families can enjoy boat rides on the ancient canals of Xochimilco for a bit of adventure.

In all, Mexico City is a place that offers history and vibrant culture. It promises an experience you won't forget. When you’re ready to plan your luxury trip to Mexico City, you can easily pair it with Cabos San Lucas.

Top Hotels in Milan

Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to attend DUCO Italy, a conference that's all about showcasing the best of Italy to the world, this year hosted in Milan. And, of course, the luxury hotels in Milan were a highlight. Here’s a closer look at the hotels we explored:

Casa Cipriani

Casa Cipriani is in the historic Palazzo Bernasconi with views overlooking the Indro Montanelli Gardens. Casa Cipriani acts as an exclusive Private Members Club, where hotel guests become temporary members during their stay. It's not just a hotel but also a social club, and only hotel guests can have access to these restaurants. So, if you stay here, you can enjoy the club's perks. The club Restaurant and Living room have amazing panoramic city views. With interiors by Florentine designer Michele Bonan, each of the 15 rooms gives off sophistication, making it the perfect sanctuary in the heart of Milan.

Mandarin Oriental Milan

The Mandarin Oriental Milan offers a charming mix of Milanese style and design in the heart of the city. You can discover dining at the two-Michelin-starred restaurant Seta, run by chef Antonio Guida, or unwind in their Mandarin Garden. With access to beautiful outdoor courtyards and the city's largest indoor swimming pool, Mandarin Oriental offers the perfect blend of luxury and relaxation.

The Four Seasons Hotel Milano

The Four Seasons Hotel Milano is in the heart of Montpellier in between all the shops, this is a fashion shoppers dream location! They are renovating their rooms and we got a sneak peak of the renovation and design and we are so excited about this! Take advantage of the revitalizing spa services or go to nearby sites like the Duomo and Pinacoteca di Brera—all within walking distance.

Palazzo Parigi

The Palazzo Parigi shows a blend of Italian and French inspiration in Milan's Brera district. Their spa is really unique, inspired by Moroccan traditions which has a private Hammam suite and is strategically located on the 3rd floor, allowing natural light. As for family-friendly amenities, the hotel provides childcare services, high chairs, baby-changing facilities, and offers babysitting arrangements, ensuring that families have everything they need for a comfortable stay.

Park Hyatt Milan

The Park Hyatt just celebrated their 20th anniversary and is location, location location! It’s directly at the entrance of the Galleria, just one block from the iconic Piazza Duomo and a 3 min walk to the Scala Opera Center. The hotel is located within the historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, an enclosed shopping building housing the original Prada store, where guests can have private shopping experiences which we can arrange. With stylish rooms and suites, as well as renowned bars like Mio Lab, one of the most renowned bars in Milan, it's the perfect destination for travelers seeking sophistication and luxury in the heart of the city.
